The BCCI'll get the work done on the Ekana pitch anew. Lucknow to host matches in ODI WC 2023. In the 16th season of the Indian Premier League( IPL), the pitch of Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium has been in the spotlight.
Indeed the stylish batsmen in the world have been unfit to score runs on this pitch. Batsmen worry to score single runs on this pitch. Along with this, there's also the World Cup this time and some matches of the World Cup will also be played at this Colosseum in Lucknow.
In such a situation, the BCCI can now do the work of preparing this pitch anew. it's being said that work on this pitch will start after the IPL. A BCCI source told Times of India that the Indian justice board had transferred a panel of pitch janitors to Lucknow.
They decided to repair the pitch in a limited time and grow lawn but the matter boomeranged and the pitch wasn't indeed completely ready. The source further added that the janitors of the BCCI had told the UPCA that the pitch needs to be repaired. For this, the contract was awarded in the first week of February itself.
During this, the monitoring and supervision of the pitch weren't done duly-
After planting the lawn, it has taken up to 6 months for the pitch to settle. But during this time the monitoring and supervision of the pitch wasn't done duly. UPCA renovated it like water but the pitch couldn't be fixed.
After this, according to the source, Lucknow has also been named to host the ODI World Cup matches in October- November. Maybe this is the reason why BCCI'll have to patch the Lucknow pitch as soon as possible. But now after the IPL, it has come important for the board to prepare this gate anew in the off-season.
Significantly, before the IPL, T20 matches were played between India and New Zealand on this pitch in January this time. After which this pitch was repaired.
