Women’s Ashes 2023: Danielle Wyatt, Spinners Lead England to a Nail-Biting Win Over Australia in the 2nd T2OI

The alternate T20I of the Women’s Ashes 2023 between England and Australia at Kennington Oval proved to be a nail-smelling affair where the hosts managed to snare a thrilling 3- run palm.

Put into the club, England got off to a solid launch with Sophia Dunkley and Danielle Wyatt setting the tone. Dunkley contributed 23 runs to the aggregate, while Natalie Sciver minced in with a quickfire 23 runs off 18 balls. Despite losing lattices at regular intervals, England managed to post a gruelling aggregate of 186/9 in their distributed 20 overs.

For Australia, Annabel Sutherland was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three lattices for 28 runs in her four overs. Ashleigh Gardner and Darcie Brown also made precious benefactions, picking up two lattices each.

In response, the excursionists began their innings explosively, with commander Alyssa Healy leading the charge. Ellyse Perry, still, was a name pantomime, smashing 51 runs off 27 balls, including five fours and two sixes.

still, regular lattices halted Australia’s progress, and despite some late fireworks from Sutherland( 20 runs off 12 balls) and Georgia Wareham( 19 runs off 11 balls), they fell just three runs short of the target. England’s bowling unit put up a chastened performance, with Sarah Glenn and Sophie Ecclestone claiming two lattices each. Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean also contributed with a crown all.
