England Captain Heather Knight Reveals Early Sexism Experience in Cricket Amidst Widespread Discrimination Report
Days following the release of the Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket report, which stressed wide demarcation within English justice, England Women’s captain Heather Knight has come forward with a shocking disclosure about her early days in the game. Knight bared an incident of sexism she faced when someone asked her if she did the ironing work for men after practice, slipping light on the long road ahead for English justice in achieving equivalency in the sport.
Speaking on the dusk of England’s first T20I against Australia in the Women’s Ashes, Knight expressed her enterprises about the progress of equivalency in justice. Recalling her experience, she said, “ I started out playing men’s club justice and being asked ‘ Do you do the ironing for the men when you’ve finished? ’. hereafter I’ll lead my side out in front of a nearly full- house with 85,000 tickets vented for the whole series. ”
