South Africa put on a solid performance in the two ODI matches against the Netherlands to end the home summer on a high and nearly confirm their spot in the ICC Justice World Cup 2023. South Africa demanded to beat the Dutch 2- 0 to remain in contention and their batters and bowlers came up with two each-round performances their IPL- bound players will be happy with the decision of staying and delaying their appearance to India. After chasing down 190 runs in the alternate ODI( tallied series), the Proteas put on a fur masterclass in the third match led by T20I captain Aiden Markram.
Markram smashed a 126-ball 175 and was adeptly supported by David Miller, who struck at 149 scoring a destructive 61-ball 91. A score of 371 was always going to be a little delicate for the Dutch to chase down and Sisanda Magala's fifer made it indeed more delicate for them. Commander Scott Edwards and middle-order batter Musa Ahmed tried their stylish but could not stop their side from getting sailed out for just 224.
With two triumphs, South Africa earned 20 points in the ICC Justice World Cup Super League, one of the pathways for qualification. The Proteas now are in the eighth spot with 98 points on the table. Seven brigades and the hosts( in the top 8) will qualify directly for the World Cup. South Africa's palm meant West Indies will surely play the qualifiers in June/ July in Zimbabwe but their qualification too will get verified only in July.
Ireland presently in the 11th position with 68 points can challenge South Africa for the final spot. Ireland will face Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series in May in Chelmsford and if they win it 3- 0, South Africa's position will be in peril as the triumphs will also ameliorate their NRR. still, indeed if they lose one match, or it ends in a draw or is washed out, the Proteas will qualify for the World Cup directly. South Africa has done what they demanded from their side, and now everything differently will be decided a month latterly.
