The 28-year-old Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has had a successful career with Indian Cricket Team and in the Indian Premier League. The spinner opened up about the time when Sachin Tendulkar advised him when he was just 17 years old. Apparently, the Master Blaster told Yadav not to go out too much and beware of the lifestyle in IPL.
In a recent interview with Gaurav
Kapur on Breakfast with Champions, the Delhi
Capitals (DC) spinner revealed his chat
with Tendulkar during his first season in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He
recollects the time when he bowled at Sachin during net practice and when also
dismissed him. Kuldeep said, “It was the 2012 season. I had entered the Indian
U19 team, and during the IPL, I had a series in Australia but I didn't have a great
experience there. In the afternoon, Sachin Paaji had to bat. I bowled at him
for about an hour and had even dismissed him. Then he talked to me for half an
hour."
He also remembered the moment when Sachin guided him and said to sleep on time and eat well. Tendulkar also told him to be careful about the lifestyle in IPL. He further continued by adding, "I was very young back then, so I was very outspoken. So, I started sharing things with him. I told him how I had a bad experience in Australia, I bowled poorly. So, he tried to motivate me that it was just a start and that I will face such situations many times in the future. Then he talked about the IPL... He told me to beware of the lifestyle in IPL, sleep on time, eat well, and don't roam around too much because a lot of people will approach me."
Kuldeep Yadav made his ODI debut in 2017 and after that, he played 81 matches and scalped 134 wickets. In the 2016 season, he made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians, and after that, he took 69 wickets in 68 games.
